DESCRIPTION:Phonological Awareness Development for Preschoolers \nThis course is appropriate for ALL early childhood educators wishing to increase and build their knowledge of emergent literacy development in young children. \nThis course consist of three (3) training components totaling 5 hours. \nThis training meets the Emergent Literacy course requirements. \n  \nComponent One – 3-hour instructor-led training course \nBy the end of this component\, participants should be able to: \n\nRecognize the key elements of early language and literacy development\nDescribe the stages of PA development and understand the connections to emergent reading and writing\nIdentify the phonological awareness standard and benchmarks for 4 year olds\nPlan and implement phonological awareness instruction using developmentally appropriate activities\n\nParticipants must register via DCF\, no walk-ins. \n>>> CLICK HERE TO REGISTER <<<  *** You will need the following CODE # to register: REF# 9669 \nLate arrivals will not receive credit for attending. \nComponent Two –  Planning\, Practice and Self- Reflection or PPR component  During the PPR participants will independently plan a lesson\, practice the lesson with a group of children and complete the self-reflection sheet. Participants must have completed Component One (3 hours) online via DCF\nb. Participants must have submitted their Certificate of Completion\nc. Participants must have completed Component 2 PPR independently\nd. Participants need to use the name and email as it is reflected on their DCF profile\ne. participants should have downloaded a packet. The packet contains the four activity plans corresponding to PA course. \nThey are to choose only ONE activity plan to implement in their classroom. They should refer to the Reflection Questionnaire when completing the activity as this offers guiding questions that will support their participation during Component Three breakout room sessions. \nWhen registering\, the pre-registration zoom link is posted on the “Notes” section of the course description.
