DESCRIPTION:October 2nd and 3rd 8:00 am- 5:00 pm \nFor Director or Assistant Directors who would like the opportunity to become a certified PRE-K Observer. \nCLASS® Observation Training is designed to support observers in reliably measuring the quality of educator-child interactions. \nParticipants in CLASS® Observation Training will: \n\nUnderstand how to use the PRE-K CLASS tool to effectively measure interactions.\nPractice observing and scoring classroom interactions.\nReceive exclusive access to resources and supports to help earn & maintain certification.\n\nFree for Directors ONLY. If a potential sub-contractor\, please see the add-on price that will have to be paid for training. \nPlease check the dates of attendance required. October 2nd and 3rd 8:00 am- 5:00 pm with a one-hour break for lunch. Participants are required to provide their own lunch. Vending machines are available. \nCommitment to attend is required in order to earn all CEUS and get certificate of completion\, If you cannot make this commitment\, please cancel registration as seating is limited. Your “Pre-K Observer” kit will be made available the day of training.

DESCRIPTION:A twelve-hour Virtual program focused on introducing participants to the mental health and behavioral philosophies needed to create responsive classrooms from day one. \nContent is developed based on trauma informed\, behavioral focused research. \nPARTS 1 & 2 \nDesigned with a focus on mindfulness and attention to that diverse\, emotional and mental health needs of children\, day one is all about being proactive. Participants will be introduced to FirstDay Learning’s key pillars of a proactive approach to preventing challenging behavior. Sessions will explore the complex connections between these pillars and various aspects of our shared human experience. Participants will consider ideas in new ways\, create interesting and unique cognitive connections\, reflect on their own practice and plan for continuous improvement. \nTopics Include: \nHidden Influence: Proactive Philosophies on Behavior (Relationships\, Environments\, Intentionality) \nIn it for the Long Haul: Professional Stamina (Self-care and Mental Health\, Peer Support and Community\, Supportive Professional Relationships) \nPARTS 3 & 4 \nThese days focus on the psychology of behavior change and considering this important field through the lens of real world experiences. Participants will examine background factors influencing behavior and will be introduced to the basics of Applied Behavior Analysis: a powerful tool for examining the sequence of events surrounding challenging behavior.
